Ingredients (for 6 people)
1 whole chicken cut in pieces or 2 whole large chicken breasts.
10 cups of water
2 oregano stalks
2 garlic cloves
1 onion cut into 4 pieces
Salt and pepper to taste
1 onion diced
2 tea spoons of corn oil
2 tomatoes peeled and sliced
1 bell pepper slices
6 limes cut into thin strips
6 tortillas cut into thin strips, then fried and drained.
Add the chicken, oregano, garlic, and onion and salt in water and cook.
Once cooked, let it cool and separate the broth.
Put the sliced onions in the corn oil, and then add the tomato, bell pepper, chicken broth, and half of the sliced limes letting it boil for 10 minutes.
Then, add the deboned chicken and the rest of the lime slices.
Serve immediately with the fried tortilla strips.
Serve portions in soup bowls. Place the fried tortillas in a separate dish so they remain crunchy.
