In the heart of the Puuc Route, in Santa Elena, you must stop and meet a man, descendant from the ancient Mayas, Don Félix, and ancient culebrero or also yerbatero. These culebreros were the people to which in the past times you would go to when any poisonous snake, commonly found in the henequen fields, had bitten you. Don Félix is one of the last culebreros who still lives in Santa Elena village, he knows the secret remedy to survive those bites, which consists of a mixture of different roots and flowers.
