Sports tourism is that in which the main reason for the visitor's trip is either to practice sports activities in natural environments or to assist a competition or a sports event in situ. In the last five years, Yucatán has focused on promoting this important segment of the tourism market with great results.
Currently, Yucatán has confirmed the organization of more than 20 major sporting events, including the Golf Cup Yucatán, the Maya Racing Festival, the Valladolid Half Marathon, and the Kitesurf Festival, to name a few.
