La Conchita refreshment stand located in the town of Nolo was founded in 1970 by Mr. Ricardo Ek Canul, better known as Tío Rich, the creator of the famous "Timbas." This delightful treat enchants everyone who visits Tixkokob, as it is located less than ten minutes away. Timbas are a crushed blend of fresh and natural fruit, which can include banana, strawberry, corn, sapodilla, peach, pineapple, cantaloupe, soursop, or mamey. It is mixed with shaved ice, condensed milk (lechera), vanilla, and artisanal Yaxkukul horchata, served in a glass. You can create combinations of two or more fruits, depending on what is available, and the price will remain the same. Try new combinations and enjoy a plate of charritos with jalapeño chilli while you wait for and savour your timba. They also sell Yaxkukul horchata, tamarind syrup, chamoyadas, and slushies made with natural fruit. Have fun assembling this delicious dessert and find your favourite flavour!
