Museo de la Canción Yucateca, A.C., is “a door to the world of romantic music”. It is an emblematic museum, unique in Mexico. It was inaugurated in 1978 and it has the mission of rescuing, preserving, promoting, and disseminating Yucatecan songs. It guards one of the artistic expressions known as “Yucatecan trova”, declared Yucatán’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. It has a collection of instruments, musical scores, and personal objects which were owned by great Yucatecan poets, composers, and singers. It has 8 halls chronologically ordered, devoted to the background, history, and main artists of this musical genre, apart from a large outdoors stage with acoustic shell.
Walk along the 8 halls with a permanent exhibition containing the important history of Yucatán’s trova.
