A man, descendant from ancient Mayans, Mayan priest, respected by the village and its surroundings, teaches Mayan culture to visitors and community’s children, he speaks his native language every day, which is the Yucatecan Maya, and he barely speaks Spanish. A Santa Elena’s character that shares his knowledge, wisdom, and house, kitchen, and Mayan altar, as a way of rescuing and keeping Yucatecan Mayan culture alive.
