Hanal Pixán, known as “Souls’ meal”, is the celebration where food is offered to the souls of the deceased in Yucatán. For the Mayan villages, November is a month of respect and celebration, because people wait all year long to receive their beloved ones, who are not in this world with them anymore. In this sense, from October 30th to November 30th, diverse activities take place to honor the deceased, like prayers, altars, the traditional pib, among others.

Start this experience at Tekit cemetery, where you can learn about some Hanal Pixán customs Yucatecan people have. Continue the tour visiting a Mayan home, a place where you can interact with Melipona bees and taste their exquisite honey. Before the meal, you will have the opportunity of watching two altars, one dedicated to children and the other to adults, you will also learn about the importance of the offerings for each one. To finish the experience, you will visit a cenote in which you can relax and continue learning about the community.
