You can participate in the elaboration, from getting the ingredients, making hand-made tortillas, grounding spices on the metate (mealing stone), and tasting both dishes.
You will also listen to the explanation of an altar to baptize corn and (depending on the season, you may offer the sacá, made with nixtamalized corn and previously grounded and mixed with water and honey). This will allow you to learn more about Santa Elena’s village, full of mysticism, preserving their culinary traditions and customs, as well as their culture. Besides, it is located few miles away from the Puuc Route, which has archeological vestiges in the same village, and you can visit with trained people, as they are not enabled for tourism.
