The equinox phenomena in Chichén Itzá 2020 is closer. Between March 20 and 21, the spring equinox will take place in Chichén Itzá, a light and shadow show attracting thousands of visitors from various countries.
Just when the sunset begins, and the sun gets near the horizon, some shadows are projected in a face of the main pyramid in Chichén Itzá. This prodigious of pre-Hispanic architecture was made with such a precision that it keeps amazing the world.
Kukulkan Pyramid was built to align with the sun at the equinox in such a way that a shadow is projected in the north face. The shadows look like the body of a snake, which symbolizes the descent of Kukulkan god, who arrives to the earth to fertilize it for the next harvest season.
