Disconnect from the city and come to enjoy this incredible kayak tour around the mangroves of Chuburná Port, where you can be in contact with nature and enjoy the marvelous landscapes, nature presents to us. This experience consists in a 3-hour night rowing through the mangroves of this beautiful port, you will see a gorgeous sunset and finish rowing under a full moon, where you will stop to admire the beauty of the night and the moon.
Located approximately 60 minutes away from Mérida, you can find Homún, a charming village. Each one of its streets is full of its inhabitants’ kindness, who invite you to learn about its history and beauty that embellish it.
Homún is famous for its wide variety of cenotes, there are new tourist attractions every day, as it is the case of Maní Chan cenote, which is a grotto with a wide cenote, full of natural surprises. You should always go accompanied by a guide to appreciate and discover the spectacular details of the cenote.
Inside the grotto, you can see a vault full of stalactites with a notorious presence of seashells embedded naturally in the rock. The contrast of colors in the rocks of orange shades, who surrounds the emerald-green crystalline waters will be part of the tourist experience in the beautiful cenote from Homún.

If you love the colonial past of convents, at Conkal village you can find the Sacred Art Museum, located in a section of the St. Francis of Assisi former Franciscan convent. There, you can see great part of the historic and cultural heritage of the region, like paintings, ceramics, and background from the church in Yucatecan territory. This convent was built in 1549 and is located by a temple; it has four halls, in the first one you can have fun with an easy interactive game, where you will see some illustrations of distances between temples and convents, what gives the idea of transportation times it took to friars when going from one place to another. On the second hall, you can see pictures of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Peter, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Joshua, and the Immaculate Conception. In the third hall you can see replicas from altarpieces from the 18th century. Finally, in the fourth hall you can go on a trip to the 19th century. It is undoubtedly, a place you must visit, and the fact that it is near Dzibilchaltún archeological site makes it an ideal destination to spend a great tourist day full of culture.
The Magic Town of Maní outstands for its history and tradition, proof of this is the St. Michael the Archangel former Convent, an ancient place.
This convent is one of the most important jewels in Yucatán. It was built in 1559 by the architect Friar Juan Mérida. In this religious building you can see a wide façade, which hosted an “open” chapel and a crowned temple. The history of this beautiful place can be known through a guided tour which starts in the main entrance, then, it takes you inside the church to explain you each altarpiece and saint you can see there, the wheel, and finally the vegetable garden and/or cenote.

Artisan Máxima del Socorro Pérez y Cetina was born in the municipality of Teabo, located 43.3 miles away from Mérida. She is devoted to the elaboration of diverse garments, most of them, the ones traditional from the state of Yucatán. In this experience you will learn in detail how the garments and designs are made, as well as you will see the garments’ exhibition she has made with some of them, the award-winning ones.
She has participated in several contests, where she has outstood and obtained awards due to her performance. She won the 2nd place in the traditional suits category of the 3rd National Textile Contest in 2015, her specialty are the suits of counted threads, and she made a Yucatecan suit embroidered by hand, shaded over linen, she also uses other techniques in different garments like huipiles and blouses.
In 2014, she algo obtained the special award of the 2nd Izamal’s Embroidery Regional Contest 2014, where she presented a cross-stitched suit with grape stitch, the piece was considered as the most outstanding in the contest. Having participated and won contests has make her improve the quality of her works and enhance its commercialization.

We invite you to visit an agro-ecological production farm to connect with mother nature and learn how basic food is produced, like milk, meat, eggs, honey, and vegetables.
When you arrive to the farm, you will be able to observe the fauna diversity, like birds, insects, mammals, and production animals grazing among the pastures. You will learn how milk is produced and the milking process. You will be able to milk a cow and learn about her feeding and the activities she makes during the day to produce milk. When the milking is finished, baby goats will be fed with feeding bottles and adult goats with branches of native trees, to be in contact with animals.
You will discover the magical world of native bees with three distinct species of Melipona bees, see the inside of a beehive, their life cycle, and all the activities they make to help the environment. You will also learn about the disadvantages a conventional production farm has and will be compared to the micro-weather visitors will enjoy under the tree shadows.
