No. 229 Maya Solar, “La Quinta del Abuelo” (Grandfather’s Farm)

Maya Solar is a 2-hectare agroecological farm with over 100 different plants and a wide variety of activities available, which you can observe through a guided tour. You will learn about timber trees, traditional cornfields, food forests, native forests, tropical forests, and the natural ecosystem of the area. You will also discover their wide variety of available foods, such as agroecological hamburgers made from local free-range meat and vegetables from the farm. They offer artisanal agroecological pizza made with farm-grown vegetables (carrots, corn, cheese, ham, chili), as well as Maya Ancestral food, including pork tamales, chaya with egg, sikli p'aak, and tostadas. For beverages, they provide fresh fruit waters and five types of organic coffee breaks. They also sell organic honey, fruits, vegetables (advance orders required), handmade artisanal clothing such as blouses and dresses in cross-stitch, soaps, and creams made by local artisans. Additionally, they offer workshops on agroecological production, artisanal jam making, pickling, and chocolate production. This is an experience you won't want to miss!
