“El Nido del Avestruz” is a farm located in Sinanché, whose objective is to promote the consumption of ostrich meat and eggs. One ostrich egg is equivalent to 22 chicken eggs. To delve into and learn more about this world, you are invited to take a tour of the different enclosures they have, where they keep the ostriches divided by age groups. Throughout the tour, you will receive explanations about their care, feeding, and the benefits of consuming their meat. At the end of the tour, you can taste the dish you have requested in your reservation, which can be: chaya egg or egg sandwich with spearmint, in case you wish to try the ostrich egg; or if you prefer to taste their meat, they can prepare it in tzic, kibis, poc chuc, panuchos, and salbutes. To make the most of this species, the ostrich eggshells are used to make lamps, and the feathers are used to create sets of earrings, necklaces, or simply as souvenirs.
