The Hunucmá-style sopes, popularly known as such for the creation of the El Maya diner 27 years ago, have delighted the palates of visitors who now come looking for this dish to the municipality of Hunucmá. The difference with the sopes sold in the rest of the state is that grated ball cheese is added on top of these, which together with the other ingredients, enhances the flavour of the dish, which can be breaded chicken, relleno negro, roasted chicken, ground beef, or grilled meat; all of which were integrated by request of diners in search of new combinations for this type of sope. The base of the sopes is made with dough, beans are added, then the filling of your choice, pico de gallo, cream, and finally the star ingredient, edam cheese. You can enjoy this dish in the morning or in the afternoon, try a sope of each kind and discover which one is your favourite!
