At Apiturismo Sinanché, you can try this drink as part of your visit, since it is a popularly known place as the living museum of bees, where through a tour with a beekeeper suit, you can visit the apiaries, collect honey, participate in honey tasting, and even participate in workshops to learn closely about the honey production process, which besides being delicious, has various health benefits, such as improving the immune system and regulating blood sugar. This mythical drink is also known as the Mayan drink, since the diet in the Yucatan Peninsula has been based on the consumption of corn since pre-Hispanic times, making it is a historical drink that, of course, remains in the taste of Yucatecan society. To make it, corn is heated, nixtamalized, washed, and ground, a portion of the batter is taken, water is added and it is beaten by hand, and sweetened with apis honey; the result is a refreshing drink which if drunk cold and has the ability to calm hunger because it is made from corn, which is why it is very common for those who work in the cornfield to consume it.
