Get on in a mototaxi, where you will begin the tour in the town of Maxcanú, heading towards the fields where the municipality's "white gold" is grown: jicama. Guided by the family, you will walk along the trails to learn about the process and benefits of the product, as well as the harvesting methods. You will have the opportunity to peel and taste the jicama on the spot while continuing the tour. After the harvest, you will participate in washing the jicamas and, together with the host, prepare a delicious "xec" (meaning "mixed" in Mayan), blended with seasonal citrus fruits or those available from the harvest, and of course, a touch of habanero chilli, to give it that unique flavour. An experience to get to know this important product in Maxcanú!
