Cocotazo is a traditional bread from Yucatán that can be found in small towns throughout the state, as well as in the capital. It is a medium-sized wheat bread made artisanally with egg yolk, butter, yeast, and salt. Over the years, different bakers have added their special touch while preserving the basic ingredients. It is named "cocotazo" due to its appearance, which consists of four protrusions symbolizing the bumps on the head that can cause "chuchulucos" (goose eggs). Enjoy this dessert accompanied by hot chocolate or try dipping it in coffee, milk, or your favourite beverage. Fall in love with its soft texture and the delicious familiar flavour that represents the region!
