In the community of Hocabá, you can find the most delicious "charritos," a favourite snack among the people of Yucatán. They are often accompanied by ham, cheese, and jalapeño pepper. These "charritos" are prepared in an artisanal way by Mr. Eduardo Pool, better known as "El Papacito," who learned this recipe when he worked at a "charritos" factory years ago. This delight is made from flour, which is first kneaded with a pinch of salt and left to rest for a few minutes. Then, it is rolled out and flattened with a rolling pin. Afterward, the dough is left to dry, cut, separated, and fried over wood fire until it reaches the perfect consistency we all love. This process gives the snack a crispy texture when tasted. Try this popular Yucatecan snack and let yourself be enchanted by its incredible flavour.
