Rosalía Chay is a traditional cook, originally from the community of Yaxunah in Yaxcabá, just 20 minutes from the new Wonder of the Modern World Chichén Itzá. This town is one of the many in the state that has preserved its identity and living roots. She is one of the internationally recognized chefs and was recently featured in a Netflix series called Chef's Table: BBQ, where she narrates the preparation of “cochinita pibil”, showing the love for traditional cuisine as part of a legacy that seeks to be preserved from generation to generation, full of history of traditional Mayan cuisine.
